Desert Caballeros Western Museum
This western museum founded in 1960 features exhibits related to the wild west history of the Wickenburg area and the entire southwest. Located at 21 North Frontier Street in Wickenburg, Arizona. For more information about the museum call 520-684-2272.

Wickenburg Jail Tree
Mesquite tree more then 200 years old that once served as the town jail. A sign at the base of the tree says prisoners were chained to the tree between 1863 and 1890 because Wickenburg did not have a jail. Located at the corner of US-93 and US-60.

Vulture Gold Mine
The Vulture Gold Mine near Wickenburg Arizona was founded in 1863 and it was one of the most productive gold mines in Arizona until it closed in 1942.

Hassayampa River Preserve
This Nature Conservancy preserve near Wickenburg, Arizona is a protected habitat for more then 280 species of birds and many other creatures. The Hassayampa flows underground during most of its course through the Sonoran Desert but within the boundaries of this preserve, it flows above ground all year. The Hassayampa River Preserve is open to visitors Wednesday through Sunday, except on major holidays. There is a small fee for admission. Both docent guided and self-guided walks are available on the trails inside the preserve. Two documents are available that will help you plan you visit:

Shrine of Saint Joseph of the Mountains
Religious retreat located about a 30 minutes drive outside of Wickenburg. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit and view the retreat statues and plaques.

Joshua Forest Parkway Scenic Road (no Web site)
The section US Highway 93 between Wickenburg and Kingman Arizona is known as Joshua Forest Park because of the many Joshua Trees and Saguaro Cactus plants in that area.
