Palo Verde Nuclear Generating StationThe $6 billion Palo Verde Nuclear Power complex is located about 45 miles west of Phoenix, Arizona, in the community of Wintersburg. It is the largest nuclear power plant in the United Statees and one of the largest in the world. Construction of the plant began in 1976 and commercial operations began in 1988.
