The Fort Apache Historic District is located on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation, about four miles south of Whiteriver Arizona.

The Fort Apache Historic District was built between 1874 and 1932 and it includes the original site of the Fort Apache Military Post. The fort was a major outpost during the 1861-1886 Apache Wars and it continued to be a military post until 1922. In 1923 the site was converted into the Theodore Roosevelt Indian School. There are 30 historic structures in the district.
