Colorado River Lakes

Information about the lakes and reservoirs created building dams on the Colorado River. These lakes are located along Arizona's borders with three states: Utah, Nevada, and California. The lakes on this page are listed from north to south.

Upper Colorado River Lakes

Lake Powell
Most of Lake Powell is in the state of Utah but the southern tip of the lake is in North Central Arizona, near the town of Page Arizona. Lake Powell is one of the largest man-made reservoirs in the United States. Lake Powell was created when the Glen Canyon Dam was built in the 1950's and 1960.

Lake Mead
Lake Mead is in the Northwest corner of Arizona along Arizona's border with the state of Nevada.

Lake Mohave
Lake Mohave is located within the boundaries of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Lower Colorado River Lakes

Imperial Reservoir

Lake Havasu
Lake Havasu is located on the Arizona-California border
